| Gaggenau feeling flush | |
| 26 June 2008 THE main selling point of Gaggenau’s CG 492 hob is that it is claimed to be the only gas model with a true wok burner, which sits totally flush with any worktop – whether it be stone, wood or steel. Alternatively, it can be welded into stainless steel worktops (as pictured). Measuring 1,000mm wide, the stainless steel hob comprises five burners including a 5kW wok burner, which incorporates three flame rings and can accommodate pans of up to 320mm in diameter. There are also two regular high-output burners and two standard-output burners. Three cast-iron pan supports protect the burners and, as they sit flush with the work top, it is easy to transfer cookware between the hob and work surface. The hob also offers automatic ignition using the one-handed control knobs and flames are electronically monitored for re-ignition if unintentionally extinguished.
